Title: Triangular Censor G. 082
Post by: Frank Schofield on July 09, 2017, 12:47:30 PM
Recently came across the  attached poor quality Egyptian ppc with no message or postal markings

Not seen this item before

I think it may be a Transport, but why censor the item in advance?

Can anyone help?

Yes, the nomenclature - G.082 - is the same style as I've seen on other transport items. No real idea why it was pre-censored - was it as simple as mere convenience for somebody ?

Nick

Thanks for that, I sent a copy to Michael Gould, he agrees a Transport
I also commented that one day one of our members with time on his hands can go to Kew and dig out these numbers and the ships allocated too, I feel they must be buried there somewhere.

Frank,

Could this simply not be a card posted under cover with a letter, therefore card enclosed and censored? I think this is often the case with what appear as pre-censored cards.
