Title: APO Y1 Constantinople 1920
Post by: Chris Grimshaw on September 03, 2017, 03:44:50 PM
Hi All

A recent purchase enables me to illustrate what appears to be a unrecorded Registration etiquette used at APO Y1 in Constantinople, August 1920.

Etiquette  is printed BASE APO 71 and the 7 has been adapted to form a Y in pen.

No example present in the John Slingsby collection and different to what he illustrates on page 126 of his book, The Postal History of the Army of the Black Sea.

Where was Base APO 71?

Regards

Chris

The person dealing with the order for registration labels presumably misread Y1 as 71
