Title: Postmark on Maltese censor cover
Post by: Tommy Samuelsson on October 08, 2018, 05:54:23 PM
Hi!

I wonder if anyone knows anything about the dumb cancellation on this RAF type R1 censor cover, which I recently bought for my collection. Any information is most appreciated.

But not nearly so common in WW2. A nice item, Tommy. I wonder where the mark was applied. Did it miss being postmarked in Malta and the mark we see was applied on arrival in the UK ? Wherever it was applied, I wonder why it was considered necessary/appropriate to apply such an anonymous mark ?
