FPO R4 2 DEC 1941 & FPO 225 20 DEC 1942?
Both [i]could[/i] be Iraq or Iran - or India?

I presume that FPO R4 is (Indian) FPO R4 ? In which case according to "Indian Army Post Office Locations and Movements 1939-1947" by Brigadier D S Virk and published by FPHS March 1973 it was located in Alexandria, Egypt Aug 1941 - 27.10.45.

FPO 225 I presume you mean (British) FIELD POST OFFICE 225 ? In which case according to "History of British Army Postal Service Vol III 1927-1963" Edited by Edward B Proud c.1982 it was located in Qum, Persia November 42 - 31.1.43.
