Title: FPO H.W.2
Post by: Alan Baker on November 17, 2019, 12:53:22 PM
Another AK item. This card bears the franking FPO H.W.2 dated 6th February 1918 and CM6/671. According to Proud, H.W.2 was with the 2nd ANZAC Corps at the time, although the pencil note suggests the card was sent from Italy. Were there Aussies in Italy at the time?

To add to the question, the picture on the face of the card bears an Italian text

Frank?

I think we have had this one before

FPO H.W.2 was used in Italy by XIV Corps Headquarters, from November 1917 until February 1918

With reference to your original post and question  "Were the Aussies in Italy at the time"
I have just found out that some Australian troops passed through the Faenza Rest Camp in February 1918
