Post by: Chris Weddell on April 20, 2020, 05:35:18 PM
This is my cover of the day.

I have just got this and mounted it up as I am mounting up my Sailors and Offices mail which goes up until 1930. I got this as I found it interesting.

Ancestry - Lt Cdr Mark P C Kerr was appointed to HMS Iron Duke, 29th October 1923. He was a career naval man and served with distinction in WWI. In 1926 he was appointed to HMS Argus, an aircraft carrier on the China Station. He retired with the rank of Commander on 1st April 1932

Chris

Your Commander M.P.C. Kerr, was recalled in WWII
Sept 1939 appt to HMS Lucifer (Shore Base, Swansea)
July 1942 appt to HMS Ironclad (Shore Base, Diego Suarez, Madagascar), still there in 1944
Still listed at the end of the war but no ship
Hope of some use
