Title: My Cover of The Day - Captain Arruas Jewish Chaplain Free French
Post by: Peter Harvey on April 27, 2020, 06:51:07 PM
I am getting a bit lost with covers of the day, there are so many. Someone could almost write a book !!

Here is my cover for today, a WW2 mourning envelope addressed to Captain Arruas, Jewish Chaplain, Fighting French Forces. Rabbi Arruas was appointed as Jewish Chaplain by De Gaulle in September 1941.

Cancelled unreadable British FPO, censored and shows the red cachet 2, with on the reverse POSTE AUX ARMEES F.F.C. B.C.M 2 Mar (could be 44).

Has anyone else seen covers like this??
