Self censored cover from Brigadier Ian Robert Crauford Bruce, commanding officer of the 28(EA) Brigade, post marked at East African Army P.O. 73 on 10 December, 1942. At the time the brigade was blockading French Somaliland prior to invasion on 28 December. At the time Proud lists the post office as a lines of communication office located somewhere in British Somaliland. Interestingly the cover is back stamped at Army Post Office 66, a sub base P.O. located at Mombasa on 13 December, 1942. Brigadier Bruce was the commanding officer of the brigade from 5 July, 1941 to 6 October, 1943, and received a D.S.O. for his service.
Always nice to find items from senior officers. There's a better chance of finding an interesting back-story.
