Title: RAF WEST AFRICA
Post by: Ross Debenham on August 25, 2020, 01:34:57 AM
I attach a scan of a cover post at Field Post Office 106, used at RAF Takoradi in the Gold Coast. Where I am a bit confused is in the address on the envelope. It is addressed to 4th (WA) T.T.S (Assuanti or Assuantri) some where in West Africa. It is re-directed to 5 WATTS. My question for our RAF experts is as WA obviously denotes West African, what does T.T.S. denote, and is Assuantri the location of 4 W.A.T.T.S. I have google Assuanti in various different forms and can't seem to find any reference.

Hello Ross

4th West African Trades Training School (W.A.T.T.S.) was situated at Assuantsi.
