Title: Greek Telegram Envelope 1917
Post by: Chris Grimshaw on September 02, 2020, 12:08:29 PM
Afternoon Team

Something slightly different today, Telegram envelope from the Greek Telegraph to 2/20th London Regiment in May 1917

Cachet of 2nd/20th London Regiment dated 11 May 1917 Meaning of 'LOT' unclear possibly Local Office Telegram ?

Comments welcomed.  First example I've ever seen.

Hi Chris,

Nice item this. I wonder about the cachet, surely they would not have had a cachet Local Office Telegram, in reality how many of these would the Unit have received (one!). So the L might just happen to be London and a cachet taken with them.... I am not sure, but certainly unlikely to see another.
