Post by: Chris Grimshaw on October 02, 2020, 12:53:31 PM
Afternoon Team

Is no one else posting interesting material?

To stimulate interest I show something slightly different.

In coming cover from HATZIC British Columbia, Canada to a Sapper Gerald Ketcheson No WR 554159 I.W.Y. R.E Mespot Exp Force. Re-directed to London, Posted Nov 14 1918, via Hong Kong, 3rd Jan 19 and Dhanushkodi 27 Jan 1919.

In " Filling the Ranks: Manpower in the Canadian Expeditionary Force, 1914-1918: 239 (Carleton Library Series) Hardcover – Illustrated, 1 Mar. 2017
by Richard Holt (Author)" on Page 45 a Captain W.W. Murray is quoted that a large number of the Canadians manning the vessels operating on the Tigris and Euphrates were from British Columbia.

Enjoy

Chris
