I show a Parcel Post label franked 2/-
Cancelled FPO 7 X which was allocated to 7th Brigade Canadian Division.
The puzzle is the rate paid which doesn't equate to any rate from the B.E.F. 1/- 7d paid the rate of a parcel between 7 lbs and 11 lb which was the maximum weight to the U.K or elsewhere. outside the B.E.F. Separate rates exist for parcels within the B.E.F.
Only explanation I can offer is it was a parcel to Canada which required a higher rate.? Does anyone have information on International Parcel rates at this time.
Chris
Based on information supplied by Nick Wraith I now have the answer for this item
Based on the Imperial British Parcel Post rates of 1/- up to 3 lbs, 2/- above 3 lb to 7 lbs and 3/- above 7 lbs to 11 lbs [b]this is the rate for a parcel to Canada of above 3 lbs to 7 lbs.
