Title: South Russia Naval Intervention Forces Warner No 1 Onwards
Post by: Chris Grimshaw on February 12, 2021, 01:33:50 PM
Afternoon Team

Title says it all,  I'm currently writing up a collection of 8 PPC's all from a Seaman Alfred Warner back home to his family.

Scan shows the first card he sent From Malta,  received in London 6 March 1919,  All are cancelled RFHMS etc

In message talks about leaving Malta shortly,  By April is in the Crimea.  At this stage vessel he's serving on is unknown, in a card dated 18 June 1919 he gives his address as 4 Mess HMS Monitor 22 which he's recently joined.  Any clues what ship he may have been on at this early stage.

More to follow

Card No 2,

He's just arrived in Sebastopol,  no mention of vessel he's on.

Chris,

The second view is of Alushta, not Alupka (also in the Crimea).
