Post by: Chris Grimshaw on April 14, 2021, 01:03:52 PM
Afternoon Team

Still plugging away and learning slowly,

Scans show a PPC cancelled

KUK ETAPPENPOSTAMT  258 = Austrian Base Post Office Dated I  III 1916  This Office was located in KRAJEVO

Picture Post Card of Vrnjacka Banja in Serbia to Bohemia So far so good.  Card is written by someone who gives this Post Office as his address.

Now the problem  markings

Straight line Cancel  KUT FELDMARIHAUS with 19 below in Violet.  There is also a second smaller cachet at the right end of main cancel into postmark ending in oct?

Any help appreciated.

Chris

Hi Chris

the small cancel reads "Zensuriert" (censored). The larger mark reads "Feldmarhaus". I found a similar combination in an auction catalogue (search for Feldmar): https://studylib.net/doc/9072236/postal-auction-number--______-closing-date. Seems to be rare, could not find any mention in K.K. Wolter, and Google is also remarkably silent.

best regards, Peter
