Title: Censored Russian View card.
Post by: Chris Grimshaw on November 16, 2021, 12:23:43 PM
Morning Team

One for our Russian specialists here I think.

View card send home from North Russia, undated but received in London 13 October, 1918

Father writing home to his young son.  Censor has used his 'purple pencil to obliterate much of the details on the card.

The censor X 15 (Type 9) doesn't really help us, so far I cannot tie it to any APO / FPO which opened later.

Thanks Peter.

Is the example you show used or dated in any way?

In A.K's records which I have  a copy of, this is the same date he recorded and London Cancel with this same Censor No X 15. Probably the same item.

I also have scans of A.K.'s material which went to Auction recently at Argyl Etkin.  This item wasn't among that material.
