I have two KGVI British India stamps as per scan with the standard SERVICE overprint, but which also show a "Southern Command" cancellation. Does this have any military significance?
Hi Malcolm,
I did a quick google search and the Indian Army Southern Command is located at Pune (Poona), so yes I would suggest the stamp are cancelled with the Army Southern Command datestamp, likely used at the command APO.

Thanks Peter,
I obviously didn't Google the right thing!
Much appreciated.
