Title: Censor numbers in Germany post WWI
Post by: Peter High on November 07, 2014, 06:15:38 PM
I have had a query sent to me by a member who asks whether anyone knows what censor numbers were used by the following units:
1) 1st Royal Northumberland Regiment (attached to the 28th Brigade / 29th Div), used FPO C.X.1 at Hilden 15.12.18 - 20.01.19

2) 3rd Australian Casualty Clearing Station, FPO ?, Euskirchen (22.12.18 - 26.04.19)

3) No.4 Sqn Royal Australian Flying Corps, FPO ?, Elsenborn (06.12.18 - 13.12.19)

Any information will be welcome (and I will pass it on to the enquirer).

Thanks & regards,

Peter

I can't help with the 2 Australian units.
The first item is doubtful as described.1st Nortumberland Fusiliers (not Royal until 1930s) was in 9th Brigade, 3rd Division.
Could the enquiry relate to Royal Newfoundland Regiment? This was in 28th Brigade, 9th Division.
However I don't immediately have info on their censor no.
