Title: RN Censored cover
Post by: Alan Baker on December 14, 2014, 01:11:57 PM
Probably one for Frank, I imagine

I am attaching a scan of a cover which I take to originate from the Destroyer Flotillas at Scapa Flow. It measures 35.5mm x 14mm, which is close to Gould 4B81.

Can anyone identify the censor?

Looking at it again, it could be a full signature rather than initials. How about T Wright or T Walsh?

I take it there is no way of dating this covers. It is going to be one of the destroyers of 1 DF. If you had a date (and the time) you could go through the appropriate navy list for these ships and probably find a match but it is an almost impossible task without some idea as to date. Michael
