Post by: Chris Grimshaw on September 21, 2015, 01:40:51 PM
Hi Friends

Puzzeled on the routing of this cover, see scan,  Salonika to Singapore November 1916.

Puzzle is would mail for Singapore have gone via London or vis Suez to connect with a East Bound mail ship.

Comments welcomed please.

Further reading of the War Diary states that mail for the East went via Port Said, it would nice to assertain which route it took from Port Said and even which vessel.

Any information appreciated.

Cheers

If this had travelled via London there would have been a London registered backstamp.

Thanks Alistair,

I'd come to the conclusion that it went via Port Said, written up as such now, does anyone have details of mail routes East from there?
