Meaning of acronym USA soldier "A.S.N."

Please will someone tell me the meaning of ASN in the attached image? Because the abbreviation comes before his personal number, I imagine it stands for something like [b]A[/b]merican [b]S[/b]ervice[b] N[/b]umber". Many thanks

Army Serial Number = ASN I think this is a common abbreviation.
