A cover with enclosed letter sent to London via the Russian post by Captain James Arthur Boulton, quartermaster of the 25th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment during the British military intervention in Siberia. Postmarked in Omsk on 24 March 1919. With circular handstamp of the Omsk military censor on the front, and two-line handstamp on back, reading EXAMINED BY MILITARY CENSORSHIP/COURT COUNCILLOR GINGST. The latter handstamp was also applied to each page of the letter. This cover traveled east through Vladivostok. 1The 25th (Garrison) Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment (800 men) was stationed in Hong Kong and Singapore in 1917. It arrived in Vladivostok on 3 August 1918, and in Omsk on 18 October. The battalion left Omsk for Vladivostok on 27 March 1919 and returned to England in September.

I would like to get information on the British "Postal Censor" mark.
