My cover of the day was post marked Simon's Town, South Africa to Yorkshire, England, dated 1 October, 1915. Cover inscribed with manuscript "AMC Celtic", which was docked in Simon's Town on that date. The Celtic was a White Star Liner converted to a armed merchant cruiser at the beginning of the war. At the time it was on a "cruise" through the South Atlantic and South Pacific Oceans as far as Chile.
