Camp Lee Virginia 1945

Hello All

I have here a nice cover from Haiti sent to Camp Lee, Virginia, from 1945. Apparently a military camp for training of Quartermasters in WW2. The censorship (Haiti und US) looks civil to me.

Question: Was there any incoming military censorship in the US at this time? or would the military censor accept the civil censor label?

Hi Peter,

As you state correctly, civilian censorship both from Haiti and the U.S. personally I don't like the cellphone labels, they often come away and has little detail, unless there was a cachet with them.

I do not think there was any requirements for military censorship on this cover. It was inbound from a civilian address, so censorship would be a civil, rather than military matter.

Interesting that the cellophane label is tied by a signature, more unusual.
