I have received the following enquiry:

I am editor of the OPAL Journal and collect Cilicia. Is there a source of documents for this area in 1919?

I carried out an internet search and found a Wikipeia entry.  I note in the Wikipedia entry that "From December 1918 to October 1921, after the defeat of the Ottoman Empire in World War I, the French controlled Cilicia" and that it was under French mandate and administration.  I have therefore presumed he is are after any information on French military post offices in the area - can anyone assist please ?

Thanks, Mike  :)

I have since received further clarification on what has been requested - see the attached:

What I am looking for is the source of any correspondence between the British and the French. I attach a document I have but I am looking for documents from August 1919.

For my information does anyone know what the initials D.F.P.S. stand for ?
Can anyone help further - does anyone know if War Diaries exist at The National Archives for the formations concerned ?

Thanks, Mike  :)

I have checked the web and found that DFPS stands for:

(Détachment Français de Palestine-Syrie, or DFPS)
