Ted Proud in his book The PH of Palestine 1918-1948 illustrates several varieties of this handstamp but does not show what OETA stands for. EEF is, of course, Egyptian Expeditionary Force. A similar OETA skeleton handstamp was used at Jaffa
Please will someone help me with OETA?
Many thanks  David

I believe it stands for Occupied Enemy Territory Administration, David. If I'm mistaken, I'm sure someone will correct me  ;)

Nick is quite correct:  The Occupied Enemy Territory Administration (OETA) was a joint British and French military administration over Levantine and Mesopotamian provinces of the former Ottoman Empire between 1918–20, set up following the Sinai and Palestine Campaign of World War I.
