My Cover of The Day 26 April 2020 - EEF

This is both a nice cover and a question, WW1 EEF. Cover posted to Edgeware and then from Edgeware redirected to a Sgt Major Fenn with Jeomanry Records GHQ2 3rd Echelon EEF at Alexandria. Forces War Records tell me that this soldier served with the 1st Suffolks, reached the rank of Sgt Major before WW1 and then served with the Suffolks, surviving the war.

The attached picture shows the datestamp (I think I can call it that) on reverse, I think this reads "3 R O 1- A- 17 ECHELON" I have never seen this before, obviously stands for 3 Records Office - would be interested if others have noted this?
