Fake WW2 POW Letters Colditz Lt Peter Proudfoot

I am posting this for member information.

If you google Peter Proudfoot POW letters, you will note that there are a number for sale as 'fake film and TV props' these have been about for may years and someone continues to reproduce and sell these on eBay as example.

I have recently noted a number of exactly the same letters cropping up in philatelic auctions, clearly fakes, they are a the same letter. Some are carried by larger auction houses who clearly are taking them as genuine.

Buyer beware !!
