One for Howard here I think.

Can anyone identify the censor of this item please?

Chris

Howard Weinert

Sender - Pvt. John A. Potter
Censor - 2nd Lt. Bradley R. Taylor
Both in L Company, 339th Inf. Regt.
The company was then at Obozerskaya on the Arkhangelsk-Vologda RR.
The oval censor mark was applied by a British officer. American soldiers' mail was often twice censored.

Thanks Howard

This is great, the censors signature had me beat completely.

Have started to compile a list of these censor markings.

Cheers

Chris
