As the forum is very quiet at the moment perhaps a member may able to help my daughter out with a Gibraltar query

She has just picked up two B&W Gibraltar postcards (Government House and Europa Point & Lighthouse) unaddressed, no message or dates, but both have the same crown circle censor mark which is claimed to be pre-censor.

The crown circle number is 8152, this is not on the Gibraltar secret lists.

Both the cards have been trimmed at the sides, personally I think that they were trimmed to fit an envelope and sent under separate cover, bought by somebody passing through Gibraltar on their way to perhaps North Africa, Malta, Middle East or even further East, they could have been dispatched from anywhere.

Has any member got a record of this censor number?, with a Field or Army Post Office number attached so that the origin can be tied down

Your suggested explanation certainly seems likely.
I have no record of that censor number.
