Can anyone give me any info on this stamp? I cannot seem to find it in the Type 7 records in Colley & Muchall's recent update

I cannot read the FPO number either. A handwritten note on the page suggests it is from Belgium

Also, any info on the signature NH Longstreet?

Nick Colley

Hi, Alan, there's a good reason R7/311 is not to be found in Colley & Garrard: until now, no one has reported it. You are the first !  :o

A pity about the FPO, but it's probably one of the 760 series. The date is Jan 45, I think? Belgium would be a reasonable guess.

No idea about Mr.Longstreet, but if you put N.H.Longstreet into Google, you'll find there's one in Ottowa (even gives the address and phone number ! Don't they have Data Protection over there ??), so that ties in, perhaps, with the Canadian address. Who knows whether it's the same one, or a relative, or not connected at all.

Thanks both. Sadly, the cover is not mine. I will report back that it is breaking new ground
