Can anyone enlighten me about the stamp "PERMIT B.747" on this cover? Where would it have been applied and by whom?

Hi Alan,

Could this not just be an export license issued by the Department for Trade (as you see on lots of Stamp Dealer covers), so maybe the cover had an invoice or account letter - cachet applied to confirm the permit to trade - locally produced by the company?
