Tricky one this - would welcome comments.

When I first saw this my thoughts were Scottish War Hospital in Moscow - not sure why other than I have seen similar addressed from Moscow, sent under cover back to England (or carried?) and then posted one. I can think of no other reason for the card post marked WELLINGTON SOM 6 OC 16 going to Glasgow having the Russian marks - any thoughts - the Moscow date stamp is the 26th ??

Peter,

The address on this card is Yuryev, Livland, Russia. Censored in Petrograd (3 handstamps) and postmarked in Yuryev on 26 Oct 1916 (8 November new style). The two unreadable postmarks along the bottom are probably Petrograd (14 Oct.). Long delay in the censor's office.

Hi Howard,

Your reading of the address is great, I take the correction - thank you. I shall now try and find out why that addressee was in Russia.

Regards

Peter
