Afternoon Team

As part of my study of the Type 7 Censor Hand-stamps series 1 - 560, I'm currently looking at the second series which was issued.

Same format as the first series but with 0 in front of the number.

Currently recorded is a series 0240 - 0246 which were used by the 3rd Battalion Royal Marines based at Lemnos and other Aegean Islands from 1917 to 1919

This series looks to have been issued in June 1918, by this time the Battalion at Lemnos etc was under the control of the Navy.

Originally served by APO SX 3 based at Mudros, this office closed 26 December 1917.  Currently I record no material between late November 1917 cancelled APO SX 3 and July 1918 cancelled with RFHMS etc.

This second series replaced the series 1 Type 7 Hand-stamp 432 which was in use October 1917 onward having replaced Censor type 3 / 3771

So far I record three of this series used, No's 0240 - 0243 - 0246 as shown on the attached scans.  Does anyone have examples of any of the other numbers and indeed usage prior to July 1918, as indeed use of 7 / 432 in 1918.
