I have been approached by a researcher from the Oxfordshire Family History Centre who is looking into the background of this soldier from Oxford who died in WWI and whose name is listed on the Roll of Honour in the Church where I work

He was a member of the Army Ordnance Corps and was killed on 12th September 1918. He is buried at Epehy Wood Farm British Cemetery. The interesting thing here is that the Graves Registration report for the cemetery has been altered from details of another soldier, 350709 Pte Charles Thomas Cook, 1/7 London Regiment, who was killed on 7th October 1916 and whose name appears on the memorial at Thiepval.

A couple of lines below on the report is listed an unknown soldier of the London Regiment.

Any information on either Cook would be appreciated

Interesting one Alan

Let me mull this one over and I'll come back to you.

Cheers
