Hello there;
I was wondering if there was anything published about army mails in this late victorian era India. I haven't acquired any post from the era yet, but I have bought a victorian Campaign Medal to a postal worker and I was wanting to learn more about it.
thanks for any suggestions  ;)

Its well outside my collecting area, so forgive my ignorance - I presume you mean the Tirah Campaign 1897-98 ?

I don't know, but it could well be covered by the "History of the Indian Army Postal Service, Vol I, 1854-1913" by Edward Proud published several years ago now, but available for loan from the FPHS Library.

Are you also aware of the book "The Campaign in Tirah, 1897-98" by Colonel Huitchinson and published by Macmillan in 1898 and available to read / download online at: http://www.britishempire.co.uk/forces/armycampaigns/indiancampaigns/tirah1897.pdf
